License to Kill
A Multivariate Analysis Exploring Possible Racial Discrimination in Instances of US Police Officers using Lethal Force
Abstract
In the past few years police officers in the US have come under fire, being accused of using excessive force against non white suspects. Utilizing a data set obtained from Kaggle.com, we will test to see whether there is any evidence to support such a claim. We will look at classification measures, to see what variables, if any, allow us to separate the victims in our data set by race. Furthermore, we will explore the relationship between variables using methods such as factor analysis and canonical correlation analysis. If necessary, other tests may also be performed.
