Culture, Boundaries and Space

Abstract

Poster presentation applying the theories presented by Durkheim (1895) and Gupta and Ferguson (1992) regarding culture and whether its boundaries are fixed or fluid. The theories will be applied to contemporary data about immigrants/immigration and the purpose of my research is to discern whether the individual application of each theory to the same dataset provides significant insight when compared against each other.
