Author Guidelines
Who can contribute?
MacEwan University students who have participated in the Interdisciplinary Dialogue Student Conference are welcome to contribute works presented at the event for inclusion in these proceedings. Contributing works is entirely voluntary.
What can be contributed?
Students are welcome to contribute files for PowerPoint presentations, papers, posters, digital stories, or creative works in any digital format for inclusion in these proceedings. Where applicable, files will be saved as PDFs before they are posted.
All abstracts for presented works will also be posted to this site. Please contact us with any questions or concerns.
Why contribute?
Doing so will ensure that these works are archived and discoverable to others, while also providing students with a permanent record of their academic contribution to the event, which can be shared on job and graduate school applications.
How to contribute:
Email files to librarian Jody Nelson (jody.nelson@macewan.ca). Prior to submission, students are asked to please check with faculty mentors to ensure they have no concerns with posting this material online.
A note about publishing presented works...
In addition to contributing to these proceedings, students are encouraged to submit papers, posters, and creative works to the MacEwan University Student eJournal (https://macewan.ca/muse) for consideration.
If there are plans to submit presented work for formal publication elsewhere, students should first ensure that any publisher(s) they have in mind do not require exclusive rights to submitted works. Most publishers allow researchers to openly share early versions of works prior to peer-review, however, this is not always the case. Any MacEwan University librarian can help look into this if needed.
Copyright Notice
Authors retain any and all existing copyright to works contributed to these proceedings.
By submitting work to the Interdisciplinary Dialogue proceedings, contributors grant non-exclusive rights to MacEwan University and MacEwan University Library to make items accessible online and take any necessary steps to preserve them. This includes posting these works in MacEwan's institutional repository (http://roam.macewan.ca) to ensure digital preservation.
If you are planning to submit your work to any other publication, please do not also contribute it to the Interdisciplinary Dialogue proceedings without first consulting with a librarian as publishers sometimes require right of first publication.
